Testing and certification

Device characteristics are confirmed before installation on site

Testing links the analytical model to the physical product. We build the control programme so that load capacity, stiffness, damping, stroke and stability of the devices are all confirmed.

Levels of verification

From material to the full-scale device

Material testing

Verification of composition and physical and mechanical properties of rubber, steel, lead, working fluids and coatings.

Type testing

Confirmation of the prototype design, the design parameters and the behaviour under cyclic loading.

Acceptance testing

Control of a defined share of the production batch or of every unit, to the extent set by the project and the standard.

Special testing

Checks for ageing, temperature, sustained load, ultimate displacements and other design actions.

Behaviour under design permanent and imposed loads, stability and settlement.

Agreement between the actual force-displacement characteristic and the value adopted in the model.

Energy dissipation

Hysteresis loop area, equivalent damping and stability across cycles.

Displacement and stroke

Behaviour at design and ultimate displacements without loss of function.

Dependence on conditions

Influence of temperature, loading rate, ageing and long-term service.

Testing programme

Every check must be reproducible

Criteria

We define parameters, tolerances, the number of specimens and the normative references.

Method

We record the loading sequence, rates, temperatures and measurement methods.

Witnessing

Where required, the client or an independent party attends the acceptance of the tests.

Test report

Results are compared against the criteria, signed and included in the delivery package.

Certification

The document package is compiled to the project requirements

The technology partner’s devices hold Certificates of Constancy of Performance to EN 15129:2009 issued by a notified body, as well as management system certificates.

The document set may include quality management system certificates, type test reports, declarations or certificates of conformity, product passports and acceptance test reports. The exact list of applicable certificates, conformity assessment bodies and permits for supply to Kazakhstan is confirmed per device type and project.
